One of the most innovative Fan Filter Units (FFU) available, this unit combines low watts (running amps @ 1.8 for 120V and 1.5 @ 200V), low sound (50dBA) and a low profile (less than 13”H, 330mm). Patented baffling technology ensures uniform airflow across the filter face and attenuates sound for one of the quietest fan filter units in the industry. Running at only 200 watts @ 90 FPM (.45 m/s [175 watts for 220V/50Hz]) the unit uses less energy than traditional motorized fan filter units, resulting in lower operating costs. 2’ x 4’ models feature a 3-speed, centrifugal-type fan/motor with permanently lubricated bearings. Alternate sizes use a variable speed controller in place of the 3-speed selector. Fan Filter Units are also available in a Room-Side-Replaceable (RSR) model for quick and efficient replacement of the HEPA or ULPA filter media while the unit is in place. Additionally, the Room-Side-Replaceable-Everything (RSRE) models allow for full room-side maintenance of the unit, including motor and electrical access. The RSRE units are ideal for areas with limited access or in applications where frequent filter changes are required.

With its microcomputer controlled electrically commutative (EC) motor, the unit dynamically adjusts itself to maintain the set airflow, compensating for changes in static pressure, filter loading or other local conditions. The “IQ” fan filter unit provides high performance and built-in intelligent control, all at a very competitive price!

Utilizing GE’s expertise in brush less DC electric motors with the patented baffling system and forward curve fan make this unit intelligent, energy efficient and ultra quiet (48dBA). The EC motor with internal microcomputer provides low energy consumption - only 80 watts at 90 ft/min (0.45 m/s) - high performance and long motor life. Unlike conventional induction motors, the EC motor regulates itself by automatically adjusting its torque and speed. Each “IQ” Motorized Fan Filter unit includes a digital speed control, which provides a constant airflow of 50 - 130 ft/min (0.25 - 0.66 m/s) over a wide range of static pressures.

The “IQ” Motorized Fan Filter Unit efficiently and easily maintains set cleanroom air levels exceeding IEST Recommended Practices. Airflow is maintained so constantly and consistently that the need for future balancing is greatly reduced. The correlated velocity feature of the digital speed control provides infinite control and fine-tuning capabilities for each FFU.
